On 19 June 2014, The Directorate General of Immigration issued Circular Letter No. IMI-1118.GR.01.11 of 2014 on Granting Re-entry Permits for New or Renewal Applications for Temporary Residence Permits and Permanent Residence Permits.
The Circular Letter has two main points:

1. all immigration offices must process applications for re-entry permits simultaneously with applications for new or the renewal of Temporary Residence Permits, Permanent Residence Permits, and Limited Aquatic Permits (Izin Tinggal Terbatas Perairan); and
2. the term of validity of re-entry permits (Izin Masuk Kembali).
   
   

Immigration offices will no longer accept applications for single trip re-entry permits. However, re-entry permits – including single trip re-entry permits – issued before the issuance of the Circular Letter of 19 June 2014 will be recognized.
