Federal Government Changes Regulation of Brazil's Ports Law to Unlock Investments in the Sector

Following recommendations from a working group formed by the Ministry of Transportation, Ports and Civil Aviation (MTPAC) and discussions with representatives of different interested parties, President Michel Temer recently signed a decree changing the regulations of (Ports Law). 

The main objective of the federal government with this measure is to ensure greater legal stability in the port sector in Brazil and to unlock investments both in new projects and in expansions of existing operations by addressing issues considered to be problematic in the previous regulation, which had been enacted during the administration of former President Dilma Rousseff (Decree No. 8,033/2013).
