Latinvex Names Two WSG Member Professionals to the 2017 Latin America’s Top 100 Lawyers

Larry Pascal, Partner, Haynes and Boone LLP and Fernando Alonso, Partner, Hunton & Williams LLP have both been selected for inclusion in the 2017 Latin America’s Top 100 Lawyers by Latinvex. Each year, Latinvex selects leading lawyers based on a combination of factors, including recent track record on major deals and business, prominence of firm in Latin America, as well as legal rankings from Chambers & Partners, Legal 500 and Thomson Reuters.

Larry Pascal serves as the Chair of the Americas Practice Group and Co-Chair of the International Practice Group for Haynes and Boone LLP and has more than 20 years of experience in advising companies on their cross-border Latin American and Spanish projects, advising clients on transactions throughout Latin American and the Caribbean (as well as other parts of the world), and has traveled extensively throughout the region. He historically has been very active in a variety of markets, including but not limited to Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Costa Rica. He has also worked extensively on numerous multiple jurisdiction projects, particularly in the Americas and Europe. Recently, he has been active advising actors in the aviation sector in connection with the inaugural flights to Cuba. Larry has been recognized by Latinvex as one of the top 100 Latin American lawyers in 2015-2017.


FERNANDO ALONSO, PARTNER
HUNTON & WILLIAMS LLP
Fernando Alonso, chairman of the firm’s Latin American Practice Group, has been selected for inclusion in the 2017 Latin America’s Top 100 Lawyers by Latinvex, for the second consecutive year. His clients include a broad range of publicly owned and privately held U.S. and foreign companies and financial institutions. Fernando has been involved in numerous significant acquisitions, mergers, joint ventures and other business transactions, including those involving cross-border complexities. His practice involves representation of both financial institutions and companies in connection with equity and debt financings. He has structured and directed numerous private equity deals. Fernando has been involved in the structuring of several public/private partnerships, privatizations and government contracts and concessions. He regularly represents foreign clients in connection with U.S. acquisitions, as well as domestic companies in connection with their international expansion. Fernando has particular experience in the energy, infrastructure and telecommunications sectors.
