SyCipLaw's Hector M. de Leon, Jr., Emmanuel M. Lombos, and Luisito V. Liban have been named "In-House Community Commended External Counsel of the Year, 2017".

The recognition is based entirely on the votes and testimonials of in-house counsel polled by The In-House Community. Founded in 1998, The In-House Community has about 21,000 in-house members for whom it provides annual In-House Congress events, the Asian-mena Counsel magazine and online resources. His practice focuses on corporate and commercial matters, with emphasis on equity investments, mergers and acquisitions, project development and finance, and similar commercial transactions. Emmanuel M. Lombos specializes in dispute resolution, including commercial arbitration. He has extensively argued precedent-setting cases involving major multinational corporations before the Philippine Supreme Court and has acted as litigation counsel in various domestic and foreign arbitrations.

Luisito V. Liban heads SyCipLaw's Employment and Immigration Department. He specializes in labor and employment, litigation and special projects. Among the transactions he was involved include the acquisition of Mirant's power plant assets in the Philippines by Crimson Power and the merger of Sanofi-Synthelabo Philippines, Inc. and Aventis Philippines.
