SIX INTERNATIONAL LAW FIRMS RECEIVE GLOBAL RECOGNITION FOR OUTSTANDING SERVICE

Each year, the International Financial Law Review (IFLR) conducts an exhaustive review of hundreds of law firms working across Europe to identify and recognize those organizations providing exemplary service and counsel involving sophisticated international corporate and financial transactions.

ELLEX – Baltics Law Firm of the Year

A&L GOODBODY - Ireland Law Firm of the Year & High Yield Deal of the Year (Team Award)
A&L Goodbody, an international law firm with headquarters in Ireland, have been awarded two awards from the IFLR for 2017. The firm has been recognized as the leading law firm in Ireland for work across a range of financial services areas including debt & equity capital markets, project finance, corporate migrations and financial services regulation. Additionally, A&L Goodbody, shared in the High Yield Deal of the Year award for its role as co-counsel in a significant Virgin Media debt capital markets transaction.

ARENDT & MEDERNACH - Luxembourg Law Firm of the Year
Arendt & Medernach, the largest law firm in Luxembourg, has been awarded the Luxembourg Law Firm of the Year from IFLR Europe. Consistently recognized as the premier firm in the country, this year’s recognition is based on its impressive list of cross-border transactions coupled with an in-depth understanding of global financial markets.

PLESNER – Equity Deal of the Year (Team Award)
Danish law firm, Plesner, has received the European Equity Deal of the Year for its role in advising the Kingdom of Denmark in connection with the landmark DONG Energy IPO and subsequent NASDAQ Copenhagen listing. Plesner was co-counsel in this complicated transaction, thus sharing the award with six other law firms.

DORDA – Restructuring Deal of the Year (Team Award)
Dorda, a leading Austrian firm, has been instrumental in its role in the HETA Bank debt restructuring deal. As part of a large international coalition of professional services firms, the Dorda law firm negotiated the case across multiple jurisdictions, resulting in favorable outcomes for the numerous creditors involved. This groundbreaking case involved over €10.8 billion in outstanding debt instruments owed by HETA ASSET RESOLUTION AG, of which, nearly 90% of claims are being awarded back to the creditors.

SHEPHERD & WEDDERBURN LLP - Structured Finance & Securitization Deal of the Year (Team Award)
This UK based law firm is well known for its experience in the real estate; energy and natural resources; and financial and banking sectors. The firm received IFLA Europe’s Structured Finance & Securitization Deal of the Year for its co-counsel work in the complex Towd Point Mortgage Funding 2016-Granite 1 project.
