Former Title IX Officer Natalie Brouwer Potts Joins Dykema’s Labor & Employment Practice in Chicago: Firm’s Chicago Office Continues Growth, Adding 10th Attorney in Seven Months

March, 2018 - Detroit, Michigan

Dykema, a leading national law firm, is pleased to announce the addition of Natalie Brouwer Potts to its Labor & Employment Practice Group as a senior counsel in the firm’s growing Chicago office, which has now added 10 attorneys in the past seven months.

Potts joins Dykema after serving as Title IX Officer at San Jose State University where she was responsible for campus-wide compliance with federal law and university policies. She conducted and oversaw Title IX investigations, implemented mandatory preventive educational programs and provided in-person compliance training for thousands of students, faculty and staff. She previously held a similar position at Northeastern Illinois University.

Before working directly for higher education institutions, Natalie was an attorney in private practice with management-side law firms. In addition to focusing her practice on Title IX compliance and related investigations of sexual harassment and sexual misconduct complaints in higher education, she also is an experienced labor and employment attorney with significant experience in immigration law.

“Title IX compliance is an area of the law that is quickly growing, and relatively few practitioners have Natalie’s focused experience,” said Mike Borders, Dykema’s Vice Chairman and Chicago Office Managing Member. “We are delighted to add someone with great knowledge and capabilities in this challenging area.”

Potts earned a J.D. from Cornell Law School and a B.A. from the University of Chicago.
