Government of Guatemala Issues National Strategy Plan to Reopen Activities in the Country

The Ministry of Public Health and Social Assistance recently published Ministerial Agreement 144-2020 that contains the national strategy for controlling the epidemic COVID-19 and confinement conditions. BLP advises IDB Invest on granting a $40 million financing to Grupo Elcatex in Honduras

IDB Invest has granted a $40 million financial package to the companies Elcatex and San Juan Textiles, both members of Grupo Elcatex, one of the leading textile conglomerates in Honduras with more than 15,000 employees. The financing consists of $25 million from IDB Invest and the mobilization of $15 million. BLP has advised Cementos Progreso Holdings, S.L. on the $335 million acquisition of assets from Cemex, S.A.B of C.V. in Costa Rica and El Salvador. Our international teams performed due diligence and provided local legal advice on the signing of an agreement by Cementos Progreso Holdings S.L.
