Sophie Chartier is a partner in the corporate law – mergers & acquisitions practice of Arendt & Medernach where she specialises in corporate law, advising multinational companies on the structuring of international transactions, corporate reorganisations and mergers and acquisitions.
Sophie Chartier is also in charge of specialised areas of the law such as e-commerce and distance contracts, IT and outsourcing issues, the full spectrum of IP rights (trademarks, patents, designs and copyright), media and telecommunications, data protection and privacy questions, advertising, unfair competition and product regulation.
She has been a member of the Luxembourg Bar since 1989.
Prior to joining the Luxembourg Bar, she worked as a researcher at the Université de Droit, d’Economie et des Sciences d’Aix-Marseille (France) and as lawyer at the European Commission in Brussels (Belgium).
Sophie Chartier holds a Master’s degree in law as well as a doctorate in law from the Université de Droit, d’Economie et des Sciences d’Aix-Marseille (France).
