Profile

Dr. Alexander Appel studied law in Austria (University of Innsbruck) and Switzerland (University of Zurich) before obtaining a postgraduate degree (LL.M.) in international business law from the University of London (London School of Economics and Political Science). After some years of training the litigation department of a Liechtenstein law firm and subsequently passing the Liechtenstein Bar Examination in 1999, he practised from 1999 until 2001 at a renowed and international business law firm in Zurich, Switzerland, as an associate in the Corporate/M&A Group. Dr. Appel joined Walch & Schurti later in 2001 and became a partner in 2005. In 2020, he qualified as notary public in Liechtenstein. Today, he is mainly involved in advisory work, in particular in the fields of corporate, commercial, business and employment law as well as in the M&A area.
