Domingo G. Castillo is Of Counsel at SyCip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan. He specializes in maritime law, insurance, international trade, customs practice, and related litigation.

His expertise covers representation of manning agencies in both commercial transactions and dispute resolution, particularly in respect of claims by seafarers; admiralty matters such as registration, lien creation and arrest of vessels in the Philippines; investigation and cases arising from vessel mishaps; anti-dumping cases; and trade law issues. He also practices aviation law.

He handles several shipping retainers, providing regular assistance on general corporate matters, regular government filings and employment law issues.

Mr. Castillo is a maritime arbitrator accredited with Philippine Dispute Resolution Center, Inc. (PDRCI).

He was Chairman of the Inter-Pacific Bar Association’s Committees on Maritime Law and Aviation Law in 2010 and has served as the President of the Maritime Law Association of the Philippines. Mr. Castillo also trained abroad with Heller, Ehrman, White & McAuliffe (San Francisco, USA, 1981) and Sinclair Roche and Temperly (London, UK, 1982).
