Profile
I am accredited as a specialist in succession law by the Queensland Law Society, and am one of only two approved Estate Account Assessors available to be appointed by the Queensland Supreme Court.
Among my experience, I have acted as an executor and conducted more than 75 Supreme Court cases relating to wills, estate administration and family provision claims. I have also advised not for-profit organisations on structuring for charitable giving, and on creating and operating ancillary funds.
Career highlights
- Appointed by the Supreme Court as an administrator to resolve troubled estates
- Acted on the first Queensland application to define the Supreme Court’s power to admit words to a will
- Managed an appeal to the Queensland Court of Appeal to define the eligibility of stepchildren in family provision claims
- Conducted an application to establish and define the audit-like role of the Registrar in passing estate accounts for the purpose of assessing commission
- Managed procedures for obtaining recognition of testamentary instruments created in different jurisdictions
- Co-authored the curriculum and marked papers for the Queensland Law Society’s specialist accreditation program in succession law
- Recognised and recommended by Best Lawyers for Wealth Management and Succession Planning
