Nicolas Thibault-Bernier focuses his practice in the areas of civil and commercial litigation, restructuring, insolvency, and banking law. As part of his practice, he carries out a variety of mandates in civil and contractual liability, debt collection, realization of securities and bankruptcy.

He also regularly practices in construction law, real estate law, product liability, liability of securities brokers and their representatives, and divided co-ownership.

In addition to his litigation mandates, he assists entrepreneurs in starting their business and advises them on their corporate structure, their financing (traditional debt, convertible or equity), intellectual property implications and the strategic challenges within their industry. Mr. Thibault-Bernier holds a graduate diploma in biotechnology and law from Université de Sherbrooke, in addition to his university studies in science.

It is worth noting that, during his studies, Mr. Thibault-Bernier took part in the Laskin national inter-university moot trial competition and also completed a mandate on intellectual property for an international corporation in the proteomics industry.

Before joining Lavery, Mr. Thibault-Bernier worked for McMahon Distributeur Pharmaceutique Inc. and Génome Québec. His specialized, multi-disciplinary expertise is a proven asset in his practice.
