Profile

Peter Bang has extensive experience in all aspects of dispute resolution and frequently appears before Danish courts dealing with cases involving commercial law disputes in a wide range of areas.

Over the years, Peter has been deeply engaged in insolvency law, partly as a trustee and advisor, but he has also handled a host of court cases, in particular those involving avoidance of transactions and D&O liability.

In 2001, Peter attained a right of audience before the Danish Supreme Court, and he was admitted as a member of the Danish Supreme Court Bar Association in 2003. He is also deeply engaged in arbitration, both as an attorney and as a frequently used arbitrator in Danish and international proceedings.

He is very experienced in litigation related to accountants' and attorneys' professional liability and is also engaged in commercial criminal law and administration of the estates of the deceased.

Peter is a certified arbitrator and a certified litigator.

For years, Peter has also been an external lecturer in the law of evidence on the Master of Laws programme at the University of Copenhagen, and he is the author of a series of articles in the Danish Weekly Law Reports and the professional journals Juristen, Erhvervsjuridisk Tidsskrift etc. and co-author of the annotated Danish Act on Measures to Prevent Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism (The Money Laundering Act) (2020).

As a Colonel of the Royal Danish Airforce, Peter has gained considerable management experience for example, as a squadron leader, and he has completed a range of management training programmes.

Peter has acquired board experience from various public limited companies, and he serves on the board of Juridisk Forening - an association of lawyers in a broad spectrum of practice areas.

  • Fogdal Biler A/S, in bankruptcy - the Danish Supreme Court gave judgment in favour of the client in a case against a leasing company involving avoidance of sale-and-lease-back arrangement
  • Mediabroker A/S - won a case before the Danish Supreme Court involving a claim for avoidance instituted by Dagbladet Dagen A/S in bankruptcy
  • ProCon Solutions A/S - the Danish Supreme Court gave judgment in favour of the client in a case involving the termination of an exclusive distribution agreement
