Rob Patterson is an energy transactions partner in the London office of Haynes and Boone, with close to 25 years’ experience advising on a broad range of transactions in the oil and gas, power, petrochemicals and LNG sectors, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, project development, financings and corporate reorganizations. Rob’s clients include national oil companies, petroleum sector regulators, sovereign wealth funds, independent oil and gas companies, oil and LNG trading companies and private equity firms.

Rob has extensive experience internationally, having spent 5 years in Russia, 4 years in Asia and 4 years in the Middle East, working on significant energy transactions in those regions and around the world. Rob is an English-qualified solicitor.

Represented Sinopec in connection with its acquisition of a 10% shareholding in SIBUR, Russia’s largest vertically integrated gas processing and petrochemicals company
Represented Oman Oil Company on its acquisition of OXEA, the world’s largest supplier of Oxo chemical products
Represented a shareholder in Neptune Energy in relation to its investment in Neptune and Neptune’s acquisition of a portfolio of international E&P assets from ENGIE
Represented the majority shareholders of OAO NOVATEK, Russia's largest independent gas producer, in connection with the sale of a 19.9% equity stake to Gazprom
Represented Oman Oil Company in connection with its $1.2 billion acquisition of an 8% equity interest in MOL Hungarian Oil & Gas in exchange for a package of upstream and pipeline assets in Russia and Kazakhstan
