Ryan Deane, a qualified barrister, is a litigation associate who concentrates his practice on international arbitration in the engineering, energy and construction sectors.

Ryan completed his pupillage at a leading London chambers after receiving his law degree from Magdalene College - University of Cambridge and his master's degree in International Commercial Law from University College London. He was awarded the Hardwicke Scholarship and the Buchanan Prize by Lincoln's Inn in 2011.

Meteorological mast for offshore windfarm (2015-2016) – Acting for employer in dispute over ground risk and structural defects in $14 million claim.

Logistics operations for deep water drilling (2015) – Dispute over court’s jurisdiction and non-payment in $3.3 million claim.

Joint Operating Agreement (2014-2015) – ICC arbitration concerning $130 million overspend on offshore exploration well in West Africa.

Advised on operation of payment mechanism under a £205 million national infrastructure project (2014).

Led an adjudication relating to a defective concrete slab in a large supermarket (2014).

Involved in an LCIA arbitration concerning defective deep sea telecommunication cables (2013).

Advised on the interpretation of a shareholders agreement for a joint venture to construct an aluminum smelting plant (2013).

Involved in an ICC jurisdictional dispute relating to the design and construction of a police station (2013).

Assisted with an insurance dispute in connection with a jack-up rig being constructed for use in the North Sea (2013).
