Hertha BSC restructuring with Heuking
A challenging year for Hertha BSC is coming to an end. The Berlin-based team was forced to reorganize and restructure in particular due to business constraints and in view of its relegation to Bundesliga 2, Germany’s second division of professional soccer. Led by Dr. Johan-Michel Menke, Heuking advised on the associated steps that had to be taken in terms of employment law.
In 2023, Hertha BSC was involved in a number of proceedings before Berlin Labor Court. The underlying legal disputes were typically settled amicably, taking all parties’ interests into account.
In 2022, Heuking had already advised Hertha BSC on several personnel measures, both in sporting and non-sporting areas. The reorganization is set to progress, with further proceedings expected to conclude in the first half of 2024, where Hertha BSC will continue to be assisted by Dr. Menke’s team.
