On Friday, 25 March 2016, Karanović & Nikolić hosted a lunch on its premises, with the goal of promoting our practice's pro bono activities. Patricia Gannon, Senior Partner, gave a speech where she stressed the importance of actively giving back to society and those members of our community who have never been in a privileged position to do so themselves. The luncheon was concluded with the introduction of lawyers within the practice who have been the most engaged in this area. Furthermore, considering this noted commitment of Karanović & Nikolić to corporate philanthropy and probono advisory services, it brings us great satisfaction to announce the news of our pro bono client, the Sarajevo based software start-up company "Ministry of Programming" recently being declared Entrepreneur of the Month in Bosnia. The Entrepreneur of the Month contest has been organised under the patronage of the US Embassy in Bosnia for the duration of the current year, as a monthly contest aimed at supporting and encouraging the entrepreneurial spirit in the country, and at the same time strengthening the Bosnian economy and promoting the companies that prove themselves worthy of the award. In the Embassy's official press release, it was stated that Ministry of Programming has won the awards thanks to its strong business model, credible recruitment policy, and a diverse assortment of clientele, all of which have contributed to the company distinguishing itself from other contestants, as well as to its overall swift growth and already established presence on the Bosnian IT market. Helped by the legal advice of Mirna Milanović-Lalić, a Senior Associate at Karanović & Nikolić's Sarajevo office, Ministry of Programming was founded in 2015, as a start-up dedicated to building all-around software including applications and websites from their first line of code up. From the onset, the company's focus has been on open-source technologies and a rapid development approach to efficiently delivering and maximising their client's ROI targets. Their constantly growing portfolio has so far included Fintech, Healthcare, and E-commerce domains. |
