LFD Holding GmbH Sells all Shares to Terra Grundwerte AG

A team led by Prof. Dr. Georg Streit, Partner at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek, advised LFD Holding GmbH on the sale of all shares to Terra Grundwerte AG. Terra Grundwerte also acquires a loan portfolio of the five largest banks financing LFD group. The sale occurred after completion of a restructuring phase of several years by restructuring trustees in the interest of the financing creditors.

LFD Holding GmbH, based in Genthin in Saxony-Anhalt, is Germany’s largest piglet breeding company with 14 subsidiaries. The company operates several piglet breeding farms with some 55,000 sow places and ten biogas plants at sites in Saxony-Anhalt, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Thuringia, Brandenburg, Saxony, and Bavaria. The company employs about 400 people.

Terra Grundwerte AG is an investment and holding company based in Alpnach, Switzerland. It is operating in the fields of agriculture, forestry, and bioenergy and in the upstream and downstream industries in the Germany/Austria/Switzerland region.
