World Services Group Elects 2020-2021 Board of Directors

World Services Group (WSG) is pleased to announce the election of the 2020-2021 Board of Directors. The 2020-2021 WSG Board of Directors will be led by Officers: Ramon Moyano, Beccar Varela, as Chairman; Stefan Erhag, Delphi, as Chairman Elect; Adam Handley, MinterEllison, as Secretary; Yvon Dreano, Jeantet, as Treasurer; and J. Michael Bernard, Dykema, as Chairman Emeritus. Mr. Moyano said, “WSG is today a very strong and collaborative global organization through the hard work of Mike Bernard, Chairman Emeritus, our Board Members, Regional Councils, and all of our WSG member firms. I am honored to serve as Chairman of such a successful organization with a one-of-kind platform, and I look forward to continuing to add value to WSG and its prestigious Membership.”

The WSG Global Symposium & 2020 Annual Meeting, with over 1,200 registrants, served as the platform from which J. Michael Bernard of Dykema transitioned his Chairmanship to Ramon Moyano and extended his heartfelt gratitude and acknowledgement of dedicated participation to our outgoing Directors: Dirk Kovlenbach, Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek; Shariza Noordin, Shearn Delamore & Co.; Judy Whitehead, Graham Thompson and Koos Pretorious, ENSafrica. WSG extends a special thank you to J. Michael Bernard, WSG Chairman 2019 - 2020 and the outgoing Directors for their exemplary years of service and support in the continuing growth and development of WSG.

The WSG Global Symposium & 2020 Annual Meeting also marked the election of three new Directors to the WSG Board: Anastasia Campbell, Graham Thompson; Jesus Colunga, Basham, Ringe y Correa, S.C.; and Paul Carlyle, Shepherd and Wedderburn LLP. The newly elected Directors will serve a four-year term.

Newly Elected Directors:

Anastasia Campbell, Partner, Graham Thompson – Bahamas

Anastasia Campbell is a Partner at Graham Thompson in the Bahamas. As a member of WSG for over 15 years, Graham Thompson has been a trusted supporter of WSG participating actively and hosting the 2018 Annual Meeting. During her time at WSG, Ms. Campbell has been an active member of both the Caribbean Region and the WSG Emerging Leaders Group since 2017. A member of the firm’s financial services, private client, trusts and estates practice group, Ms. Campbell’s practice is primarily focused in corporate and commercial transactions including mergers and acquisitions, asset finance, immigration, regulatory matters and inward investment government projects across several industry sectors.

Jesus Colunga, Partner, Basham, Ringe y Correa, S.C. – Mexico

Jesus Colunga is Partner of Basham, Ringe y Correa, S.C., WSG member for Mexico. Basham, Ringe y Correa, S.C. is a founding member of WSG joining in 2002 and has been an actively participating through individual professionals as well as sponsorship of multiple events. Mr. Colunga has been an active firm representative who served on WSG’s Latin America Regional Council since 2018 and served as Chair in both 2019 and 2020. Mr. Colunga has been instrumental in developing the WSG Emerging Leaders Group and continues to participate diligently in its development. During the unprecedented changes in 2020, Mr. Colunga lead the WSG Latin American Regional Dialogue Series with monthly round table discussions. Mr. Colunga has extensive experience in corporate law and mergers & acquisitions, and he plans and carry’s out local and international corporate transactions, including business formations, shareholders' agreements, joint ventures, reorganizations, and banking investments for his global clients.

Paul Carlyle, Partner, Shepherd and Wedderburn LLP – Scotland

Paul Carlyle is a Partner at Shepherd and Wedderburn LLP, WSG member representing Scotland. Shepherd and Wedderburn LLP is a founding member of WSG joining in 2002 and has been an actively participating through individual professionals and through the sponsorship of multiple events throughout the years. Additionally, Mr. Carlyle sat on the WSG European Regional Council from 2017 to 2019.Mr. Carlyle heads the firm's Media and Technology team and specializes in intellectual property law, advising clients in all sectors of high technology to branding and media. Mr. Carlyle also sits on the intellectual property law reform committee of the Law Society of Scotland.
