Aron Beezley Spotlighted as Law360 2022 Government Contract MVP

September, 2022 - Birmingham, Alabama

Bradley attorney Aron Beezley was recently named as Law360’s 2022 MVP of the Year in the Government Contracts category. The 12th annual Law360 MVP Awards recognize attorneys across the country who have distinguished themselves by making significant contributions to their practice areas and by achieving hard-earned successes in complex and high-value matters over the past year.

Beezley’s achievement was spotlighted in a Law360 article that provided some insight into his biggest recent accomplishment:

As co-leader of Bradley’s Government Contracts Practice Group, Beezley served as lead counsel for protester Concordance Healthcare Solutions LLC in a consolidated case that ultimately resulted in the Court of Federal Claims blocking the VA's attempt to noncompetitively transfer certain medical supply requirements from its own contract vehicle to one operated by the Defense Logistics Agency.

The VA's underlying Medical Surgical Prime Vendor program was estimated to be worth between $10 billion and $27 billion, and the claims court ultimately determined that the agency had acted irrationally and unfairly, ignoring legal and ethical concerns raised by its own internal legal counsel and procurement officials along the way.

The case was noteworthy for several reasons, with "a very important government program at issue [and] fairly novel legal issues at play, with multiple parties and a lot of taxpayer money at stake," Beezley explained.

"And the litigation was otherwise fairly complex from a procedural standpoint, with all the various parties moving forward," he said. "It's very rewarding to be able to play a part in ensuring transparency and accountability in how taxpayer money is spent."
