Greenspoon Marder Partner Manuel Crespo to be Honored at CABA Pro Bono Project’s 40th Anniversary Celebration
Miami – August 21, 2024 – Greenspoon Marder announces partner Manuel “Manny” L. Crespo will be honored at the Cuban American Bar Association (CABA) Pro Bono Project’s 40th Anniversary Celebration on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. Mr. Crespo was formally on CABA’s Board of Directors and has served in several leadership roles within the organization, including President. He will be recognized for his pivotal part in the successful reboot and repositioning of the CABA Pro Bono program in 2006 as an independent 501(c)(3) entity, having recognized the need to revitalize and expand the legal services initiative originally founded by attorney Jose A. “Junior” Garrido in 1984, and later recognized as a ‘Point of Light’ by President George H.W. Bush in 1992.
The event will also celebrate Miami-Dade State Attorney Kathy Fernandez Rundle, who will receive the CABA Pro Bono Champion Award for her enduring commitment to supporting CABA’s Project through her years-long advocacy and funding within the State Attorney’s Office budget. This support has been instrumental in advancing the representation of victims of human trafficking.
“It is incredible to be a part of a voluntary bar association that has made such a significant impact in our community over the past 50 years, 40 of which it has also made sure to deliver legal services to the poorest and least fortunate in our community. I look forward to witnessing the continued growth and success of this project and congratulate fellow CABA past-president, Kathy Fernandez Rundle on this well-deserved recognition,” said Mr. Crespo.
