West Palm Beach, Fla. – September 3, 2024 – Greenspoon Marder announces partners Michael R. Bakst and Laurence “Larry” I. Blair have been selected for inclusion by the Palm Beach Media Group in the Top Lawyers 2024 list featured in the latest issue of Palm Beach Illustrated. This list reflects a handful of attorneys that received the highest number of votes provided by peers and have been recognized as some of the “best legal minds practicing” in Palm Beach County. Nominees were evaluated based on survey results, the status of their licenses, and their standings with The Florida Bar.

Mr. Bakst is experienced primarily in various fields of bankruptcy and insolvency, including representing creditors, bankruptcy trustees, and receivers, as well as representing litigants within complex bankruptcy matters, commercial litigation, receiverships, and assignments for the benefit of creditors. He is a panel United States Bankruptcy Trustee for the Southern District of Florida. Mr. Bakst has also served as an Examiner appointed through the offices of the United States Trustee. Mr. Bakst frequently speaks at continuing education seminars for bankruptcy and commercial litigation practitioners, as well as continued education seminars for trustees in bankruptcy on a regional level.

Mr. Blair concentrates his practice in the areas of estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax planning with an emphasis on representing families and entrepreneurs in multiple-generation wealth transfer and asset protection planning. He also represents clients with business succession planning needs, including shareholders’ agreements, buy-sell and cross-purchase agreements, and business transactions, including purchases and sales of businesses. Mr. Blair is certified by The Florida Bar as a specialist in Wills, Trusts & Estates Law – the highest such rating of an attorney’s special knowledge, skills, and proficiency in a specific area of law and for professionalism and ethics in practice in the state of Florida.
