Buchalter Adds Three Attorneys to Labor and Employment Group
19 September 2024 – Buchalter is pleased to announce that Amber Healy has joined the firm as a Shareholder alongside attorneys Neil Katsuyama in the Los Angeles office and Hailey Oberst in the Orange County office. All three attorneys join the firm’s Labor and Employment practice group from Atkinson, Andelson, Loya, Ruud, & Romo.

An experienced attorney with a prominent practice focusing on the defense of wage and hour class actions and Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) lawsuits, Healy will Co-Chair the Firm’s Wage & Hour practice and Chair the Firm’s PAGA practice. She represents employers in all aspects of labor and employment law. Her extensive experience includes litigating employment matters across California before trial courts, Courts of Appeal and the Ninth Circuit. Her practice focuses on the defense of claims involving wage and hour, equal pay, FEHA, whistleblower, retaliation, wrongful termination, and other employment-related issues. In addition, she has broad labor experience, including representing employers in union grievance proceedings and collective bargaining.

Katsuyama brings a wealth of experience to Buchalter’s Labor and Employment group. His practice is litigation focused with emphasis on defense of class action, PAGA, and FEHA claims, as well as business litigation involving ERISA plans, hotel owners, and commercial real estate disputes. His experience in arbitration, trial, and appellate proceedings further strengthens the firm’s capabilities in these areas.
Oberst represents clients in a wide range of employment matters including wrongful termination, discrimination, breach of contract, wage and hour class actions, PAGA actions, and single-plaintiff disputes in state and federal courts throughout California. She also has extensive experience handling claims before administrative agencies including the EEOC, California Civil Rights Department, Department of Industrial Relations and Department of Labor.
