Gianni & Origoni launches GOP International Academy

July, 2024 - Roma, Italy

Rome, July 15, 2024 – International law firm Gianni & Origoni announces the launch of the GOP International Academy, an educational initiative supported by the National Bar Council, the Higher School of Advocacy, the Law Society of England and Wales and the Bar Council.

Through the Academy, the firm aims to promote legal culture and renew its focus on legal education. Legal training has always been a focal point for the firm which has, over the years, greatly invested in the development of its professionals through multiple activities, including a rich programme of Continuing Legal Education, constant training, internships, secondments, and rotation in foreign offices.
With the launch of this Academy, GOP extends its commitment to the outside world and aims to offer Italian lawyers and English solicitors, PhD students, LL.M. students, trainees and postgraduate diplomas the opportunity to enrich and deepen their know-how in business law topics as well as strengthen their practical skills through immersive learning methodologies.

The first initiative organised by the GOP International Academy will be on "Business Law: new developments in theory and practice” and will take place in London between the 22 to 26 of July. The summer course will consist of five days of English-speaking lectures delivered by key figures from the legal sector and testimonials and will be filled with empirical learning activities that will offer participants the opportunity to breathe the legal environment and immerse themselves in the vibrant atmosphere offered by the English capital.
Among the main topics that will be discussed are English contract law and the differences with Italian and other civil law systems, good faith in English contract law and the Italian system, the enforcement of Italian judgments in the UK and English judgments in Italy, and the impact of artificial intelligence on the legal profession.
Lectures will be given by academics, legal counsel from major companies, professionals from international law firms of primary standing, as well as a number of Gianni & Origoni's partners.

Antonio Auricchio and Giuseppe Velluto, Co-Managing Partners of Gianni & Origoni, commented: "The legal world is constantly evolving and only through constant updating can we keep up with the changes and respond adequately to present and future challenges. In GOP we believe in education and training for excellence is a crucial aspect for our firm which we continue to innovate and invest in."
Emanuele Bosia and Raimondo Premonte, Partners of Gianni & Origoni and coordinators of the initiative, added: "The Course scheduled at the end of July is attracting considerable interest from Italian and foreign professionals and we have received registration also from English solicitors and barristers. We are very pleased with the enthusiastic reception of this first edition which not only confirms the validity of our approach and the interest of colleagues in comparing the two legal systems, but also encourages us to propose further future initiatives.
