Czech Republic WSG law firm member Kocian Solc Balastik (KSB) acted for DAF Trucks N.V. in creating a new business partnership with TATRA, a.s. DAF will supply engines and cabins to TATRA for the new Tatra Pheonix, an off-road, all-wheel drive TATRA truck based on a TATRA chassis. The model offers the possibility of engaging or disengaging the front-wheel drive at any time while driving. TATRA will also gain access to DAF’s dealer network. In return, DAF will take a 19% shareholding in TATRA. KSB has provided legal and tax advice to DAF over a period of several years. DAF Trucks N.V. is a wholly owned subsidiary of the North-American corporation PACCAR Inc. DAF’s core activities are focused on the development, production, marketing and sale of medium and heavy-duty commercial vehicles.
