New partners for Gianni, Origoni, Grippo, Cappelli & Partners

Rome, July 17th 2012 – Following the Partners meeting at Gianni, Origoni, Grippo, Cappelli & Partners held yesterday, Giuseppe Cannizzaro, Fabio Chiarenza, Kathleen Lemmens and Ettore Scimemi have been appointed new partners in the firm, bringing the total partner head count up to 76.

Giuseppe Cannizzaro, a member of the Corporate/M&A department in Rome, is an expert in the regulation of financial markets, corporate governance and the acquisition of listed companies.
Giuseppe participated in the drafting of the “Testo Unico della Finanza” and has contributed in the settling of the general principles for corporate law reform. He offers legal advice and assistance in these fields with particular focus on listed issuers. Giuseppe joined the firm in 2009 as Of Counsel after gaining extensive experience at Consob (the public authority responsible for regulating the Italian securities market) and at Capitalia Group (the largest Italian bank).

Fabio Chiarenza, a member of the Tax department in Rome, specializes in tax and advises Italian and foreign companies in M&A, real estate and structured finance transactions.
Fabio joined the firm in 2008, after working at a leading international law firm. He also worked for a global investment bank in London.
The legal directory “Chambers Europe” includes Fabio among the ”leading lawyers in Italy" for tax. His post-graduate studies include a master's degree in tax law.

Kathleen Lemmens, a member of the Corporate/M&A department in Milan, focuses on M&A, corporate restructurings, the issue of securities, and the structuring of Italian and foreign investment schemes.
Kathleen joined the firm in 2009 after working at a leading international law firm in Brussels and Milan. During her career Kathleen has gained international experience. She is qualified both as a Belgian and as an Italian lawyer, and speaks Italian, English, French, Dutch, and German.

Ettore Scimemi, a member of the Litigation and Arbitration department in Padua, is Professor of Corporate and commercial law at the University of Padua. He focuses on corporate, commercial and insurance litigation, corporate law and capital markets.
Ettore joined the firm in 2010 as Of Counsel after extensive experience in corporate and M&A gained in Italian and international law firms. He assists listed companies and leading insurance companies in terms of corporate governance and litigation, with particular expertise in the field of litigation involving the Regulatory Authorities. In addition to the PhD in commercial law from Milan’s Università Cattolica, he has obtained an LLM. from the Yale Law School. He has authored many publications on corporate law, bankruptcy law and financial markets, and is qualified to practice law both in Italy and New York state.
