A&L Goodbody Appoints Seven New Partners

A&L Goodbody has announced the appointment of seven new Partners across a range of specialist areas in its Dublin and Belfast offices.

Commenting on the appointment, Julian Yarr, Managing Partner of A&L Goodbody said "Ireland has been through a transformational and challenging period in recent years. Having advised on some of the most significant and complex assignments in recent times, A&L Goodbody last month was awarded 'Irish Law Firm of the Year' in April 2013 by International Financial Law Review. The Firm has also announced the appointment of eighteen new associates.

The newly promoted Partners are Dario Dagostino (Dispute Resolution & Regulation), Enda Hurley (Dispute Resolution), Karen Killalea (Employment), Laura Mulleady (Insurance), Keavy Ryan (Corporate), Gearoid Stanley (Banking and Financial Services) and Ivan Waide (IP/IT -Belfast office).

Dario Dagostino represents international and domestic clients across a range of commercial disputes with a focus on contentious regulatory matters. He has advised clients in dealing with regulators in the financial and many other sectors during investigations, enforcement proceedings and related civil litigation. Dario also advises on corporate criminal offences and compliance issues.

Enda Hurley advises on a broad range of contentious commercial matters, specialising in the areas of financial services litigation, transaction-related Court applications, investor disputes, and real estate litigation. Enda has significant experience in advising a number of publicly quoted companies and financial institutions on large scale multi-party Commercial Court litigation

Karen Killalea is an employment law specialist and litigator. She advises employers on employment litigation as well as non-contentious employment law and industrial relations matters. She regularly advises on re-structuring, business transfers, change management, the protection of goodwill and confidential information, employment contracts, HR policies, harmonization programmes and risk avoidance practices generally.

Laura Mulleady's particular area of expertise is the insurance industry. She specialises in advising domestic and cross-border insurers, reinsurers and intermediaries on all aspects of insurance law and regulation. In recent times, her practice has been particularly focussed on business transfers and amalgamations involving insurers and reinsurers.

Keavy Ryan advises a wide range of clients on mergers and acquisitions, inward investment, corporate reorganisations, commercial contract arrangements and corporate governance. Keavy is also a member of the firms specialist Benefits team and advises on all types of employee share plans, incentive arrangements and remuneration issues in both public and private companies.

Gearoid Stanley advises in the areas of debt capital markets, structured finance and banking and financial services regulation. Gearoid’s key areas of expertise include asset backed and high yield bond financing, covered bonds, financial derivatives, regulatory capital and securities market regulation.

Ivan Waide specialises in technology, intellectual property and commercial law. He has extensive experience advising Northern Ireland-based and international clients on technology development, protection and commercialisation, as well as outsourcing, commercial contracts and data protection, and other IP and technology focussed transactions.
