A&L Goodbody wins Legal Advisor of the Year for Ireland
A&L Goodbody has been awarded 'Legal Advisor of the Year' for Ireland at the Financial Times and Mergermarket European M&A Awards Ceremony in London.
The awards recognise excellence in corporate, private equity, banking and legal M&A expertise across a number of European jurisdictions. Nominations are reviewed by a panel of editors from the Financial Times and Mergermarket, as well as M&A experts, who analyse the deal data for firms, in addition to how innovative structures are applied to transactions.
This follows a number of other recent successes for the Firm. These include being awarded Irish Law Firm of the Year (IFLR), Ireland's Most Innovative Law Firm (Financial Times) and No. 1 Irish M&A Law Firm (Bloomberg, Mergermarket, Thomson Reuters and Corpfin).

Prominent deals led by A&L Goodbodys M&A team included advising: Telefonica on its sale of Telefonica Ireland (O2) to Hutchison Whampoa Group and Élan Corporation on its successful defence of Royalty Pharma's $6.8bn hostile offer and subsequently on its $8.6bn takeover by Perrigo.
