Wardyński & Partners launches New Technologies Practice

May, 2014 - Warsaw, Poland

The interdisciplinary team includes skilled lawyers and experts with extensive technical knowhow. They provide comprehensive regulatory, tax and transactional advice for clients in the new technologies sector.

“For us, new technologies are all about new legal challenges,” said Krzysztof Wojdyło from the New Technologies Practice. “Businesses in this sector have issues with the legal classification of innovative goods and services, as innovations develop more quickly than the legal system can regulate them. This creates demand for highly specialised legal services targeted to specific segments of the new technologies market. Lawyers advising in these areas must have a firm understanding of the nature of innovation as well as the particular industry.”

The New Technologies Practice provides comprehensive legal advice in the fields of biomedicine and modern foods, creative industries, crowdfunding, cybersecurity, e‑commerce, financing of new technologies, gaming, IT, new technologies in searching for energy, new payment solutions, protection of privacy, public-private partnership projects, research & development, and telecommunications.

The lawyers from the New Technologies Practice plan intensive publishing and training initiatives. Their first bulletin has already been published (in Polish), including articles on innovations in the food industry, crowdfunding, tax support for innovation, bitcoins, and the recent breakthrough ruling by the European Court of Justice on retention of telecommunications data.
