Another East Midlands deal for Springboard

February, 2016 - Birmingham, England

Springboard Corporate Finance is delighted to announce that it has advised on the sale of East Midlands based Pharmacy chain WR Evans to PCT Healthcare.

WR Evans was started in 1959 by Ann and Bill Evans and has grown to become the largest independent community pharmacy group in the East Midlands. The company operates 64 branches across the Midlands under the Manor Pharmacy and Cox and Robinson brands. It also has a strong online presence operating through the Vet-Medic and Travelpharm brands.

WR Evans was acquired by PCT Healthcare and the group will become the third largest independent pharmacy chain in the UK. Following the sale, and subject to regulatory approval, it is intended that 10 of the WR Evans stores will be transferred to a new company owned and operated under the Manor Pharmacy name by former Group Managing Director David Evans.

Springboard Partner Simon Ward and Assistant Director James Bailey advised David Evans in relation to the retained stores. Simon Ward commented “This was a complex process. We worked with David Evans to deliver a commercial solution that met his objectives and those of his fellow shareholders. We wish David well as he continues the long tradition of his family’s involvement in the pharmacy market.”
