Jaime Carey is Elected President of the IBA Legal Practice Division

During the International Bar Association (IBA) Annual Conference, which was held last month in Washington, DC, Jaime Carey, managing partner at Carey, was elected as the new president of the IBA Legal Practice Division. This is the largest division in the IBA, and it is composed of more than 50 committees from various areas of law including Corporate, Tax, Banking, Labor and Capital Markets as well as seven regional forums. The IBA is the leading organization of legal professionals and bar associations in the world. It has a membership of more than 80,000 lawyers and more than 190 bar associations and law societies in over 160 countries.
This is the first time that a Chilean lawyer has held a position of such high importance in the IBA. Carey will officially take office on January 1, 2017 and his two-year term will end on December 31, 2018.
