Texas Lawyer Names Sakina Rasheed Foster for ‘On the Rise’ Award
Haynes and Boone, LLP Partner Sakina Rasheed Foster is no doubt on the rise in her career. After receiving accolades from The American Lawyer and the Dallas Business Journal (DBJ) earlier this year, Texas Lawyer selected Foster for its 2018 “on the rise” list of lawyers under the age of 40 who have made their mark on the legal profession in Texas.
Foster, a partner in the Finance Practice Group in Dallas, has worked at Haynes and Boone since 2007. She will be profiled in the September issue of Texas Lawyer magazine and recognized during an awards ceremony on Sept. 19 at the Belo Mansion in Dallas.
In selecting the “on the rise list,” Texas Lawyer said it targeted lawyers who have wielded influence in their practice areas in Texas and beyond and have proven to be “innovators, developing unique practice niches, amassing robust books of business, demonstrating strong leadership qualities, showing expertise in litigation, in-house or transactional work and committing themselves to pro bono, charitable and professional volunteer work.”
The DBJ recently featured Foster among its 40 Under 40 young leaders for 2018, saying the group is “proof that North Texas is well stocked with tomorrow’s bastion of leaders.”
In addition to her years of experience with representing financial institutions and corporations, Foster is also skilled in secured and unsecured lending and leads teams representing major international corporate borrowers, private equity sponsors and other financial institutions in complex high-dollar financing. She is also part of the firm’s Aviation Practice Group and was key to the firm engaging a large international aviation client for the client’s U.S. legal needs.
She is a leader within the firm and within the North Texas community through her commitment to diversity, equality and civility and work with the Orchid Giving Circle, the Equal Access to Justice Campaign, Texas Lawyers Assistance Program, Dallas Bar Association (DBA) and Dallas Asian American Bar Association.
The American Lawyer also named Foster to its new Young Lawyer Editorial Board. Gina Passarella Cipriani, The American Lawyer’s editor in chief, said the board members are “truly representative of the up-and-coming leaders of the profession” and already have brought insights to the publication’s coverage of the legal industry.
