Jordan Maze is a Senior Associate at ENS in the Banking and Finance practice. 

Jordan specialises in corporate finance transactions, banking, distressed debt and restructuring as well as project finance and development/real estate finance transactions.

Jordan regularly advises large listed and unlisted corporate clients as well as local and international investment banks and development banks, sponsors and other investors in relation to large scale and complex financings and refinancings, both locally as well as in cross-border and pan-African transactions, including advising a South African listed company on a secured USD 3,000,000,000 debt facility in 2023.

He also has experience in debt capital market transactions including advising dealers, arrangers and issuers on bond issuances, such as Sasol on its USD 1 billion bond issue.

Jordan’s experience includes advising clients on several banking license applications submitted under the Banks Act for the establishment of banks in South Africa.

Jordan has also advised on ESG-related financing transactions (including on green and sustainability-linked financing) and is a member of the ESG working group at ENSafrica, such as advising a South African bank on a on a syndicated USD 306,000,000 sustainability linked debt facilities agreement linked to ESG, carbon-emission reductions and gender-equality targets in 2022 as well as advising on the establishment of a blue bond programme to be listed on the Namibian Stock Exchange (NSX). Jordan  has also presented on ESG and sustainability issues to financial services sector clients. In addition, he has experience working on large-scale renewable energy projects in Sub-Sahara Africa, advising both project companies/borrowers and lenders on the Department of Energy's Renewable Energy Independent Power Producer Procurement Programme (REIPPPP) in South Africa.

Jordan is a member of the Legal Practice Council: South Africa.
