Stephan Spamer is a director at ENSafrica in the tax department. He specialises in advising on all aspects of international tax, with special emphasis on mergers and acquisitions, international double tax agreements and exchange control regulations.

He has acted for a range of clients in the international arena in establishing and developing their business operations in South Africa, with specific emphasis on advising on transactions involving the telecommunications and airline industries. He has also advised on the South African income tax and capital gains tax implications of company restructurings and employee incentive schemes, including Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment.

Stephan’s experience further encompasses matters concerning corporate tax, capital gains tax, employees’ tax and trusts. He has extensive experience in offshore investment opportunities for South African residents in Africa and the Middle East, which include regular advice on South African Exchange Control Regulations.

He is the author of articles for the Euromoney Tax Handbook, the PLC Cross-border Tax Handbooks and a number of other South African publications.
