WSG member firm, Haynes and Boone, hosted a 60-minute webinar on Bias and Discrimination in the U.S. During Times of Crisis.

A disturbing consequence during times of national emergency is the rapid rise in incidents of direct and implied bias bringing with it the potential for tragic results. Currently, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Asian-American and other minority communities are subject to alarming levels of bias. For example, inflammatory terms like "Chinese Virus" and "Kung Fu Flu" are in common parlance in reference to the global pandemic. As part of our ongoing commitment to foster diversity and inclusion in our profession and our communities, Haynes and Boone presented a fast-paced panel discussion examining the anecdotal, historical and workplace implications of bias during a time of national emergency.
