WSG member firm, Shoosmiths LLP, hosted a 75-minute webinar on the Homeworking - Temporary New Normal or Permanent New Normal.

With so many employees working from home as a result of the ongoing coronavirus crisis and with government guidance still being that those who can work from home should continue to do so, this forth webinar was added on Homeworking to our Essential Webinar Series for Employers.

From speaking with clients, contacts and internally at Shoosmiths, it is clear the emergency homeworking arrangements that many employers have had in place for a number of months have changed attitudes to homeworking for both employers and employees … possibly for good.

Webinar covered practical issues such as:

  • What contractual changes do you need to make for homeworking to become permanent?
  • What data protection issues do you need to be aware of?
  • The health and safety considerations you need to take into account when setting up homeworkers.
  • How to ensure your home working arrangement is efficient and adequately supervised.
  • Your options where too many employees want to work from home.
  • Disagreements about whether work can be done from home.
  • Employee’s home set up not allowing for home working.
