Adelina has been a lawyer for 15 years. She specializes in Business Law and Free Trade Zone practice areas. Adelina joined BLP as a Legal Assistant in 2003 and became an Associate in 2005. In Business Law, she advises local and transnational companies on day-to-day issues, as well as major projects such as mergers, acquisitions, and corporate restructuring procedures. She has guided a number of companies on establishing operations in Costa Rica under the Free Trade Zone regime, emphasizing the benefits and obligations entailed by such operations. In addition, Adelina has assisted companies in related sectors, including services, commercialization, and manufacture. Her experience in large-scale projects is extensive. After graduating with honors from law school at the Universidad de Costa Rica in 2005, Adelina also completed with summa cum laude distinction a course in Notary and Registration Law from Escuela Libre de Derecho in 2007. In 2012, she earned a master’s degree in Legal Advisory for Companies from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. Adelina is a coordinator of the Free Trade Zone Committee of the Chamber of Exporters (CADEXCO), is actively involved in conferences and seminars in this sector, and is the author of several academic papers in her specialty areas. She is also a member of the editorial board of REDEM, Revista de Derecho Empresarial. Adelina is based in San José, Costa Rica.
