Andrea Sittenfeld, Senior Associate at BLP in San José, Costa Rica, has more than a decade of experience in Public Law, Public Procurement & Regulation, and Cybersecurity & Data Protection. She has advised on government issues, public tenders and procurement, and participated in protecting Uber’s operation in the country. Andrea is part of the Interinstitutional Commission of the Chamber of Banks and Financial Institutions, advising on regulatory compliance and updating regulations. In Privacy & Data Protection, she develops data protection policies, advises on database registrations and represents companies in proceedings before data protection agencies and the Constitutional Chamber. SIEMENS Healthcare. BLP is SIEMENS´ public procurement adviser in all public bids in which Siemens Healthcare participates with winning success.
Laboratorios Saval’s entry into the pharmaceutical market in Costa Rica. BLP advised Saval throughout the acquisition process of Laboratorios Stein’s operations in Costa Rica, including the performance of due diligence, the structuring of the transaction, the negotiation of the purchase agreement and ancillary contracts, and the entry of Saval into the Costa Rican market through the obtention of the applicable permits and the hiring of 170 employees.
Assignment of Golfito Marina Concession. BLP acted as legal advisor for the assignment of rights over the Golfito marina concession to a new operator. Additionally, the firm continues to handle legal matters related to the operation of the marina.
Universidad Latina. BLP has been the legal advisor to this prestigious private university for over twenty years. During this time, it has assisted with regulatory relations, student and academic regulations, and data protection.
Baxter Productos Médicos. BLP collaborates on tenders and public contracts for this major supplier of medical products and devices before the Costa Rican Social Security Fund.
Autopistas del Sol. BLP has been the advisor to the concessionaire of the Route 27 project, providing support in data protection, supplier contracts, and government relations.
Beto le Presta. BLP’s advisory services to this financial entity include data protection, administrative proceedings before Prodhab, and amparo resources.
