Annie’s practice focuses on administrative, environmental, and oil and gas transportation laws.

Annie counsels clients on regulatory issues, compliance strategy, construction and siting, and permitting and enforcement defense relating to the Pipeline Safety Act, the Natural Gas Act, the Clean Water Act, TSCA, NEPA, RCRA and CERCLA and related state laws. She regularly advises clients with respect to environmental and pipeline transportation laws, spill and release reporting, and enforcement defense. She assists with large-scale confidential investigations and compliance audits to identify legal risks and prepare defenses. Annie's clients include oil and natural gas pipelines, chemical companies and other major manufacturers.

Annie is admitted to practice in the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth and the Eleventh Circuit, and the Northern District of Georgia.

Relevant Experience

  • Advise clients on compliance issues arising under complex transportation and environmental laws.
  • Permitting and compliance advice related to energy infrastructure construction projects, including FERC Certificate and other authorizations required under federal and state environmental and natural resources laws.
  • Conduct internal investigations related to regulatory compliance issues.
  • Assist in defending companies in criminal investigations by the Department of Justice and Office of the Inspector General and in resolving proposed suspension and debarment actions.
  • Advise energy companies and trade associations on energy-related legislation and proposed regulations and assist with preparation of comments on the same.
  • Assist in preparing spill response plans and defending companies in enforcement actions arising from chemical spills and releases.
  • Defend regulatory enforcement actions brought under federal pipeline safety laws.
  • Participate in multi-state compliance audits focused on pipeline safety, water, waste and chemical regulatory programs.
  • Conduct transactional environmental and pipeline safety due diligence pertaining to environmental liability and compliance.
  • Pro bono work includes representing clients in veterans benefits cases, custody cases, collection disputes, and records restriction cases.
