Ashley’s practice focuses on class and collective actions, risk assessment and strategic planning.

Ashley’s practice focuses on class actions and other complex civil litigation, including defense of antitrust and other complex commercial matters, mass tort and consumer fraud actions. She aids clients in assessing long-term, future litigation risks and strategic preparation for such risks. In addition, Ashley has significant experience with jury research and trial theme development. And she has assisted with information security incident response efforts.

Ashley is admitted to practice in the Georgia State and Superior Courts, the Georgia Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. She served as Judicial Clerk to the Honorable Julie E. Carnes of the United States District Court, Northern District of Georgia from 1998 to 1999.

Ashley’s pro bono practice includes representation of indigent appellants or appellees in appeals to the United States Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. She has argued before the Eleventh Circuit on pro bono matters twice, with both arguments resulting in published opinions ruling in her clients' favor.

  • Advised client on incident response in the wake of a multi-national data breach.
  • Represented a manufacturer in a trade secret misappropriation suit. A federal jury returned a favorable verdict.
  • Represented a healthcare insurance company in several high-profile antitrust actions.
  • Represented a consumer electronics company in multiple putative nationwide or multi-state class actions involving various states' consumer fraud statutes, with repeated success on pre-certification motions and on appeal.
  • Represented a manufacturer in a putative nationwide class action filed in Georgia state court involving claims related to the advertising and marketing of consumer products. The plaintiffs dismissed their claims on the eve of the class certification hearing.
  • Represented a national banking association in various federal court putative nationwide class actions, which were consolidated by the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation.
  • Represented a national banking association in putative nationwide class actions filed in Georgia state court which concluded with defense-favorable settlements before class certification.
  • Represented a multi-state convenience store owner whose franchise was terminated by a major oil company. A federal jury returned a favorable verdict.
  • Represented a national restaurant company in commercial, real estate and appellate litigation, including repeated successful defense of franchisor's independent contractor status.
