Profile
Alain von Wattenwyl is an associate in the private client team. He represents our clients in domestic and international disputes, mainly in the fields of succession, family and private banking law. He further advises private clients on estate planning, relocation and philanthropy, as well as various startup companies on contractual and corporate matters.
Alain von Wattenwyl graduated from the University of Fribourg (MLaw 2018, summa cum laude), at the Center for Translational Legal Studies in London and the Graduate Institute in Geneva. After his studies, Alain von Wattenwyl interned at the Appellate Body of the World Trade Organization (WTO). He then completed his traineeship at Walder Wyss and was admitted to the Geneva Bar in June 2020, ranked first of his class.
In 2023, Alain von Wattenwyl completed his education with an LL.M. at the National University of Singapore, where he earned the James Low Hong Ping Prize for Top Graduating Student as well as the prizes in family law and international commercial arbitration.
Alain von Wattenwyl is fluent in French, English and German and also has knowledge of Spanish and Italian. Registered with the Geneva Bar, he is admitted to practice in all of Switzerland.
