Allie advises and defends clients in internal investigations, regulatory and civil enforcement actions, civil litigation, and white collar criminal matters.

Allie represents entities and individuals in a range of industries, including health care, financial services, government contracting, oil and gas, and manufacturing and retail in matters involving allegations of health care and procurement fraud, financial crime, environmental crime, trade secret misappropriation, and violations of the Bank Secrecy Act and civil and criminal False Claims Act. She has represented claimants in asset forfeiture proceedings and advises clients on an array of compliance issues. In addition, Allie is experienced in civil litigation in state and federal court and is well-versed in planning and managing large eDiscovery projects and document productions. She devotes her pro bono efforts to representing veterans appealing the denial of their disability compensation claims before the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Allie is admitted to practice before the Eastern District of Virginia, the Western District of Virginia, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.

Relevant Experience

  • Represented large pipeline company in response to US EPA and DOJ criminal investigation of environmental compliance during pipeline construction.
  • Represented home health care company and senior executive in investigation involving allegations of improper billing practices and violations under the civil and criminal False Claims Act.
  • Represented large defense contractor in civil False Claims Act investigation involving allegations of procurement fraud related to kickbacks and mischarging of time on direct and indirect contracts with the government.
  • Represented entity in civil False Claims Act investigation into procurement and billing practices in the maritime industry.
  • Represented nationwide provider of property management services in civil and criminal False Claims Act investigation into allegations of fraud involving requests for incentive fee payments under housing contracts with the government.
  • Represented large financial institution in civil forfeiture action where DOJ sought direct recovery from the bank for assets removed by accountholders engaged in money laundering. Negotiated a resolution to an ancillary claim against the bank related to the accountholders’ misconduct.
  • Conducted due diligence to assess OFAC and asset forfeiture risks and issues involving beneficial ownership in connection with complex real estate transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and investment funds.
  • Advised financial services and banking clients on Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering (BSA/AML) requirements applicable to their domestic and international operations.
  • Conducted internal investigation on behalf of corporate client into alleged misappropriation of trade secrets by corporate employee and advised client regarding potential liability.
  • Represented individual defendant in state court hazing case. At trial, prevailed on motion to strike the Commonwealth’s evidence and obtained the dismissal of all charges. Negotiated favorable resolution to related wrongful death suit on behalf of the same client.
  • Represented defendant in trade secrets misappropriation suit in federal court and obtained a favorable jury verdict.
  • Represented private plaintiff in an antitrust action challenging a consummated merger under Section 7 of the Clayton Act. A federal jury found that the merger violated the federal antitrust laws and awarded substantial damages.
