Carla Frangoni is the Partner in charge of Garrigues’ New York office, from where she coordinates the engagements arising in the market of the USA and Canada, together with her clients in Spain and Italy. Up to June 2022 she was a Partner of the San Sebastian office (Basque Country). Carla joined the Firm in November 2000. Carla has a wealth of experience in the corporate/commercial area, having taken part in numerous domestic and international transactions. Among others, she specializes in the following practice areas: company law, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, commercial contracts. Carla is also an Italian lawyer and is responsible of Garrigues’ Italian Desk. She advises both Italian companies with investments in Spain and Spanish companies with Italian interests. Carla has been recognized “Lawyer of the year 2014” for the practice of “Corporate and M&A” in the Bilbao area by the publication Best Lawyers. Moreover, Carla has received the “Client Choice Award” in the editions 2015 and 2016, which is annually granted by the British publication International Law Office, for the category “General Corporate”. Moreover, she is a lecturer in International Private Law (International Contracts) at the Law School of the Universidad de Deusto. She also is a regular speaker at seminars and conferences organized by the Firm and various specialist centers (APD, Adegi, etc.). Carla is a member of the Guipuzcoa Bar Association.

Education
Degree in Law from Universidad de Valladolid and Doctorate in Jurisprudence from Universitá degli Studi di Bologna

She has researched comparative private law and contract law at UC Berkeley Law School (Boalt Hall).
