Carlos Rapallo is Partner in Charge of the Warsaw office. He has amassed a wealth of experience in commercial contracts and has participated in processes for the negotiation and formalization of industrial agreements (supply, purchase, maintenance, licensing), commercial agreements (distribution, agency), works contracts and contracts for services. He has been directly involved (as team head) in the development of numerous national and international projects in the private law area (corporate, M&A, etc.), working in a range of industries including the media industry, family businesses in different industries, the mining and chemical industry, companies operating in the renewable energy industry, the automotive industry, real estate industry and hotel industry. Furthermore, he is in charge of developing the International Expansion and Contracts practice area for Garrigues’ Seville office. In this regard, he is responsible for all foreign clients who have invested in the Seville office’s sphere of influence, advising them on the drafting of transaction agreements as well as on the coordination and implementation of prospective negotiations. His remit also covers processes for the internationalization of different clients. In this connection, he has coordinated the entry and exit of clients to and from external markets such as Central Europe and Eastern Europe (Poland, Romania, Bulgaria), investments in other European countries (such as France, Germany and Italy), and projects in the Americas (US, Brazil and Mexico). Between 2007 and 2012, he was the partner in charge of Garrigues’ office in Warsaw (Poland). He managed the establishment and development of the office and provided direct assistance to the various Spanish clients looking to invest in Poland and its neighboring countries. To date, he has been coordinating clients with interests in Romania and has taken part in projects concerning Bulgaria and the Czech Republic. With respect to this last area, he has participated in and coordinated highly complex projects, including establishing initial contact between clients and the above markets and providing the necessary legal advice to enable them to set up business and grow. Carlos Rapallo was named as one of the key individuals in the M&A practice area by Chambers and Partners 2011 and the Legal 500 for 2011. He is a member of Seville Bar Association (1998) and is registered on the list of foreign lawyers at Warsaw Bar Association (2008). Carlos Rapallo is a speaker and lecturer at various training centers in Spain and Poland (EOI, Universidad Pablo Olavide de Sevilla, Centro Empresarial El Monte, Lazarski University of Warsaw). He has also lectured at numerous specialist courses and conferences and has chaired and spoken at events held in Central and Eastern Europe on a range of international investment-related topics.
