Prior to joining Han Kun, Mr. Ma was partner of the Chinese law firms Fangda Partners and Haiwen & Partners respectively for 14 years in total. Before that, Mr. Ma worked at several leading international law firms as associate in their New York, Hong Kong and Beijing offices. Mr. Ma has represented both Chinese and international companies in a variety of corporate transactions, in the following areas:
• Represented diverse clients in merger notifications in China;
• Represented leading international companies in their acquisition and direct investment projects in China;
• Represented lenders and borrowers in various commercial loan and project finance transactions;
• Represented foreign invested clients in general corporate law matters.
Mr. Ma's representative clients in merger notifications in China include: Delphi, Associated British Food, Airbus, Sanofi-Aventis, SABIC, Veolia, Faurecia, Inteva, United Technologies, Nokia, Siemens, Henkel, Sina.com, Merck, GSK, TPG, Blackstone Group, and Bain Capital. Mr. Ma has also represented many clients in cartel investigations by NDRC.
