Carter Byrum is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Practice Group.

He earned his J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law, where he was a staff editor for the Texas Journal of Civil Liberties & Civil Rights and the Texas Review of Law & Politics. Carter received his B.A. (magna cum laude) in Government from the University of Texas at Austin.

Prior to law school, Carter worked on a United States Senate campaign and in the Texas Senate during the 87th Legislative Session, where he returned for the 88th Legislative Session in his second year of law school.

While in law school, Carter spent his first summer as a judicial intern for a United States District Court judge for the Western District of Texas in San Antonio and worked as a law clerk on the United States Senate Judiciary Committee in Washington, D.C.
