Significant Accomplishments
BLP advised HELVETAS SWISS INTERCOOPERATION and FUNDACION HELVETAS during their merger in Honduras. BLP advised and carried out this merger, and after analyzing with the tax team, it was possible to create a tax strategy to facilitate this merger that closed in 2020 due to Covid-19.
BLP advised SCATEC, a leading company in the production of clean energy, on sales tax exemption.
BLP advised Pacific Solar Energy S.A. de C.V., a leading company in the production of clean energy, on sales tax exemption. The BLP team designed a strategy to acquire tax-free goods and services, receiving an exemption at the end of the fiscal period.
BLP advised PRODERSA, a solar energy company created to build, operate, and own the “NACAOME 2” solar power plant. The BLP team designed a strategy for the acquisition of tax-free goods and services, receiving an exemption at the end of the fiscal period.
BLP advised BECAMO to incorporate within the Free Trade Zone regime. BLP advised throughout the entire process until incorporation, which implied obtaining tax advantages.
BLP advised Chiquita Honduras Company on all tax issues arising from its agricultural operations in Honduras, ensuring compliance with its tax obligations and guaranteeing the enjoyment of all exemptions and exonerations provided for by law.
Appeal against the tax administration of Honduras. BLP acted as lead counsel advising Empresa Energía Eólica de Honduras S.A. on the presentation of an appeal against the tax administration of Honduras.
