Profile
Matt Rountree is an associate in the Energy Practice Group in the Houston office of Haynes and Boone. His broad transactional practice includes energy finance, joint ventures, and the acquisition and disposition of oil and gas properties. Matt has experience negotiating agreements in the upstream, midstream, and power sectors such as credit agreements, purchase and sale agreements, and joint development agreements on behalf of lenders, producers, and private equity sponsors.
Matt also has experience negotiating agreements utilized for commodity trading and hedging, such as NAESB agreements and ISDA Master Agreements and Schedules.
Prior to law school, Matt worked for several years in the power industry as an analyst and trader.

Represented Endeavor Energy Resources in connection with a $300 million joint development agreement with a private equity firm to form a drilling partnership for the development of properties located within the Midland Basin.
Represented the administrative agent in connection with a $500 million senior secured credit facility to be used for the acquisition and development of oil and gas properties.
Represented the purchaser in connection with the acquisition of oil and gas properties for consideration of $600 million.
