I have acted in numerous large scale litigation matters including cross border disputes and international distribution agreements. I also act for major clients in investigations, inquiries (internal and external) and Royal Commissions.

I am an active member of the International Bar Association (IBA) and am the Chair of the IBA's International Agency and Distribution Sub-Committee. I regularly speak at international events including on risk and regulatory issues associated with international distributors operating in Australia. I am also Chair of MinterEllison's National Franchising/Automotive Group.

Career highlights
  • DEKRA SE - Acted for German company, DEKRA SE in an arbitration concerning alleged breaches of warranties contained in a share sale agreement and pre-contractual misrepresentations (financial forecasts) including those contained in documents made available during the due diligence process.
  • GM Holden Limited - Acted for GM Holden Limited in relation to a 12 month investigation by the ACCC relating to its statutory consumer guarantee policies and practices, and a subsequent s 87B undertaking. Also appointed as independent expert to oversee compliance with the undertaking.
  • ITL Optronics Limited - Acted for a global defence technology manufacturer in defending a claim by its Australian distributor for alleged breaches of agreement and the Australian Consumer Law. The large scale litigation spanned across multiple jurisdictions (including Australia, Israel and England) and involved complex questions including conflict of laws and interpretation and enforcement of exclusive jurisdiction and choice of law clauses. Applications to restrain foreign and local proceedings were issued including an anti-suit injunction.
  • Victorian State Departments - Acting for various State government departments in the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability.
  • Provided advice to a major hospital in relation to the Royal Commission into Victoria's Mental Health System.
  • Acted for a government department in a major IT dispute.
  • Acted for Chinese investors in large scale Supreme Court proceedings regarding the termination of a joint venture agreement associated with a multi-million dollar land acquisition and development.
  • Acted for numerous entities including Optus, AGL and GM Holden in the rationalisation, wind down and restructure of their distribution networks. Have also acted for them in multiple court proceedings alleging misleading and deceptive conduct claims in the Federal and Supreme Court.
  • - Acted for in successfully obtaining an injunction against a competitor, CarsGuide in the Supreme Court for misleading and deceptive conduct in relation to its online and billboard advertising campaign dealing with the quantity of listed sale vehicles.
