Roberto has over 9 years of experience in the legal profession. He specializes in Corporate & Commercial, Real Estate, and Aviation. When it comes to Corporate & Commercial, Roberto assists local and transnational companies in a number of day-to-day issues and is very active in mergers & acquisitions, as well as contracts. As for Real Estate, he has experience in the development and structuring of financings, aside from his experience in tourism regulations for coastal areas of Costa Rica and condominiums. As for Aviation, Roberto has extensive knowledge in connection with the entire regulatory landscape of this industry, and provides advice to different companies in contractual and operational issues before Civil Aviation authorities. Roberto joined BLP as an associate in 2014, after working at the law firm JD Cano for over 8 years, where he started as legal assistant and subsequently became an associate lawyer, providing legal advice to different local and international companies in Corporate, Real Estate and Aviation matters, and serving as legal counsel for major companies such as Delta Air Lines, Nature Air, among others. Roberto graduated from the School of Law of Universidad de Costa Rica in 2008. He also has a Diploma in Business Administration for Lawyers from INCAE Business School since 2015, and completed the Lawyer’s Management Program at Georgetown University and INCAE in 2016. He is currently undertaking a Master’s Degree on Executive Business Management EMBA 2018-I at INCAE as well. He has participated in important congresses, including the 7th International Seminar “The Latin American Procedural Legal System” in Rome, Italy, in 2004. He was also a founding partner and chairman of the Club Rotaract Alajuela in Costa Rica, where he lives today.
